Javid Rahimli

Javid Rahimli is an Azerbaijani-qualified lawyer holding a Bachelor of Laws from Baku State University and Master of Laws degrees from University of Cambridge and George Washington University.
His practice focuses on international dispute resolution, arbitration, public international law, and human rights law. Javid has worked on proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the European Court of Human Rights, United Nations bodies, and the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.

His international dispute resolution experience includes investment treaty arbitration, commercial arbitration, sports arbitration, and litigation concerning sovereign immunity before domestic courts.
Prior to joining ALC, Javid practiced at a Tier 1 law firm in London. He has also served as a
researcher for a King’s Counsel, an OSINT analyst for Amnesty International, an assistant to an American politician, and a researcher for think tanks based in Baku and Washington, D.C.
Among his notable work, Javid contributed to the representation of a European State in a halfbillion AZN dispute before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, involving procedural submissions under a bilateral investment treaty initiated by a multinational bank. He has also advised a State on matters of public international law, including human rights issues and complaints under United Nations mechanisms.
